Episode 1 - Rebirth of a Legend!

“Is she dead? Try opening her eyes! Feel for a pulse!” “She’s breathing and she has a pulse. She’s fine.” “She’s unconscious! Call an ambulance! She feels hot! Maybe she passed out from dehydration!” Syra was finally beginning to come back to her senses as she fluttered her eyes with her eyelids still shut tight. She was wearing a scarlet tank top and a royal red thin opened jacket that had silver glittering patterns on it. Her pants consisted on blue jeans and she wore an orange purse around her arm. Her face was a sun kissed tan with ginger red hair. Underneath her wavy, shoulder length hair were a pair of sunglasses that were black and dark orange with dark red tints to them. Her lips were a rosy red but her face looked like she had been on an all-out brawl and lost. Scratch marks were barely on her face but looked worse on her arms and legs.

“It’s okay guys, I’m fine.” Syra tried to get up but she fell back down to her knees. The two boys grabbed her before she was able to fall back to the ground. One of the boys asked “God, you sure don’t look okay. Did some guy beat you up?! Just let me know who and I got your back!” The guy seemed to be pretty full of himself. He was wearing a scarlet red scarf and had brown hair. His skin was a little lighter than the girls and wore a plane white shirt with a black vest on. His pants were black as well with khaki shoes and messenger bag.

“Chill out, Connor. I don’t think anyone beat her up. Why don’t we just start with your name. Are you from around here?” This guy seemed to be relaxed and laid back. He had Milk Chocolate type skin with black, short hair. He wore a golden metal bracelet on his left wrist that had some kind of weird metallic symbol in the middle of it. He wore faded dark blue jeans with white and blue shoes. He wore a necklace with a silver chain and had a silver amulet at the bottom with a sapphire gem in the middle of it.

He helped her back to her feet. However, she grunted when she tried to stand, so he wrapped her arm around his neck. “Looks like you broke your leg there,” he analyzed. “Don’t worry, there’s a hospital pretty close by. Let’s get a move on.” She asked “Wait….you two just met me. Why would you waste your time helping me?” Connor replied “How could any human just pass by someone who’s clearly down? I don’t think any sane human could do ignore someone in need of help.” She smiled. “Thanks guys.”

The two of them got her to a hospital where she was treated and her leg was in the process of being bandaged up. The nurse said to her “So how did this happen?” She replied “Honestly? I can’t really remember…” “Were you hit by a car? Did someone beat you up? Were you in a car accident?” “I dunno,” She replied, “Last thing I remember was those two boys finding me in the middle of that field…” The nurse answered “Well it seems like you’re a pretty fast healer. Your bones seem to be practically fixing themselves! At this rate, we can have you bandaged up in no time and out in a pair of crutches in a couple of hours.”

The nurse left the room with some of the data she collected from the girl’s leg. She asked herself “How did I get like this..? And where am I supposed to go from here?”

A little later on, the two boys came running back in the room. “Hey there again!” They said. “We didn’t get a proper introduction back there.” The boy with the golden bracelet introduced “My name is Steven and this is my friend Connor.” Connor asked concerned “You feeling okay? You felt pretty hot when we were helping you in.” “What?” She asked. “I was hot?” Connor corrected “No! Like…Physically hot! Your body temperature! Not trying to say you’re not hot, you’re actually gorgeous! We should go on a date sometime!” Steven jabbed Connor in the stomach. “What he’s trying to say is we were worried you had some kind of heat stroke or something. You feeling dehydrated at all?” “Not really,” She admitted. “I honestly can’t remember how I got in the middle of that field.”

They heard some screaming from down the hallway. “Is that smoke?” Connor asked. “Let’s go see what’s up!” Connor and Steven walked outside the room and saw a fire. “The hallway is on fire!” Fire Alarms began to go off and the nurses began to evacuate all of the patients. Steven came back for Syra and said “Come on! We gotta get you out of here!” She said “I can take care of myself. Just go!” He grabbed a pair of crutches and wrapped some bandages around her leg. He said “There’s no way I’m leaving you! Now let’s go!”

All of a sudden, the exit to the room became enclosed in fire. Steven said “We’re blocked in!” “I can clearly see that!” Syra yelled back. Connor was on the other side yelling “Guys! Hold on! I’m going to get you all out!” He tried to move the fallen flaming debris with a long pole, but the flames violently spread onto the pole and almost got onto Connor’s hand. Steven yelled “Connor just go! We’re all going to die at this rate!” “No way I’m leaving you-“ A piece of the ceiling fell in front of Connor and he jumped “See you guys on the other side!” And with that, he ran off.

Steven rolled his eyes, coughing on the smoke. “Useless as always.” He got Syra out of her bed. “Alright, I’m getting you out of here.” He stood her up and got her settled on her crutches. He then grabbed some of the fluids on the counter and ran at the fire. Syra yelled “Steven wait! You don’t even know if that’s water!” “I’ve gotta try something or we’re both going to burn!” He threw the fluids on the fire, which only made the fire spread even faster and made the ceiling collapse on Steven. “Steven!” She yelled. She reached out her hand and as she did so, the flaming debris came from falling on top of Steven to circling around the girls arm. Steven was shocked in amazement and from the looks of it, she was too.

Steven asked “How are you doing that?!” “I don’t know!” She stuck out her finger and pointed it around the room, causing the fire to follow her finger. She gasped and quickly jumped back. Falling off of her crutches and onto the ground. However, all of the fire in the room dispersed when she did so. Steven was too blown away for any kind of words.  “How did you-“They hear and explosion from down the hall. “We can figure this out later!” She said. “Let’s move right now!” They started to make their way out of the room, until something outside caught their attention.

At the end of the hallway, they saw a man. However, behind all of the smoke, flames, and heat waves, he appeared to be nothing more than a shadowy figure of a person. He could be heard chuckling behind all of the chaos. “You!” Steven yelled. “Are you the man who started this fire?” Without saying a word, the man threw a black ball and calmly walked off, spreading gasoline on the ground as he walked. “I’d take that as a yes,” Syra assumed. The black ball began to disperse and spread across the room, emitting shadowy figures that appeared to be otherworldly creatures coming out of it. The creatures began to rip apart anything that crossed their path and began to set their eyes on Steven and Syra. Steven said “Um…we got to go.”

He picked Syra up and began to run with her in his arms. They slashed down walls and anything else they could get their claws on to try to get Steven to stumble, but he was able to navigate through all of the obstacles. “You know who that guy was?” “I barely know who I am!” She responded. “Just keep heading for the door!”

The shadowy creatures began to creep in closer. Steven got to the emergency stairs but he saw that too much of the fire had already burned them to the point where they had become obsolete. Ahead of them was a dead end. The shadowy creatures began to chuckle as they slowly creeped their way in closer to Syra and Steven. Steven said “Don’t worry, I’ll get us out of this.” Either Syra was bold or crazy, but she said “Steven, put me down.” “But-““Now.” She ordered. Listening to her orders, he released her and set her on her feet. Her leg began to swirl with some of the fire around them acting like a fiery cast, instantly healing her leg. The shadow creatures rushed in at them full speed, but she covered them both in a dome of fire by pressing her palms into the ground. She spread her arms out widely, completely incinerating everything around them. She was able to carry them away from the hospital, far away from anyone to witness anything that Syra just did. She landed both of them safely as the fiery dome around them disintegrated in red embers as they landed.

“Wow that was amazing! How did you-“ Before she could even comprehend anything he just said, her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she immediately began to collapse. Steven caught her just in time. “I guess your powers drain you,” He observed. “Just hold on tight, I’ll get you better.” He carried her off and ran off with her in his arms.

The Legends were watching the whole thing, but they weren’t too impressed. “I don’t like him,” Glacia, the Legend of Ice said. She stood up from her throne as the room began to freeze. “I say we freeze him in a nevermelting ice.” “And what would that do?” Crest, the Legend of Stone asked. “Not a thing. He’s aiding her, and by the looks of it, Chronos erased a little bit too much of her memory. I say let them help her. At least until she gets back on her feet.” “I agree,” Chronos said. “She will need human mentors to teach her the ways of human error. Only then will she understand and think like a human. When that time comes, we will see just how far she is willing to go to defend these mortals.”
Syra is reborn as a human on earth and is immediately recognized by someone who wants to take her out as soon as possible.
